Release 2025.1: Manage Modules - download from inside MinumOS

For the 2025.1 release, we've improved on one of the biggest pain points for adding modules and keeping them up to date.  That is, just downloading and loading them into the main software.

And so gone is the old "Add Modules" button, replaced by a new "Manage Modules" button.

Clicking on this button will not just open the old file picker dialog, but instead will open a new screen entirely dedicated to managing installed modules.

Download modules

Let's take a look at the top section of this screen.

download modules section of manage modules page

In this section of the page, you will see any modules that your account is authorized to shoot, including purchases, the newsletter bonus module, and any free giveaway modules.  At the top of the list, you will see any that are not loaded into your system at all, or any that have updates available (also color coded red, yellow, or green if the latest version is installed).  Simply click download (or download all at the top of the page) to install any updates or missing modules.

Using this feature does require an internet connection and is not yet supported while the remote app is connected.

Manually Load Modules

If you prefer, you can still manage modules manually with the lower section of the page.

Here you can see any modules previously loaded the old fashioned way.  Now you have the ability to remove them if you would like (or if you have updated them in the upper portion of the screen, though that isn't necessary) by clicking the minus button on each row entry.

Clicking "Load Module" will open the familiar file picker dialog from past releases to add a module file manually.

Other updates

Version 2025.1 brings several other improvements as well:

  • Swipe navigation in the main menu for module selection
  • More reliable sync between remote app and main computer
  • Pause button is now available on game and target modules (not just photo and video)
  • Moving targets mode added to Target Practice module
  • Various bugfixes and reliability and performance improvements.
